The 2013 NT Barra Classic starts on Friday 3 May and competitors from interstate will compete alongside local anglers, all in the quest for the elusive “Barra on a Stick”, the ultimate trophy.
Forty-nine teams of three anglers will compete over the five day event. This includes 17 local teams, 11 all-interstate teams and 21 mixed teams of locals and interstate anglers.
The Barra Classic holds a five-star rating from NEATfish (National Environmental Assessment of Tournament Fishing) which is the highest rating available, and recognises the positive environmental, social and social impacts of the event.
The 2013 Frenchys Marine Junior Fun Day will be held on Friday 3 May, with 59 junior anglers participating. Barra Classic skippers and crew will show the juniors the finer art of catching barramundi, as well as showing them how to tag and release the fish.
